The Savings & Loan Scandal

I always say you've got to understand the JFK assassination, Iran-contra scandal, and BCCI scandal in order to understand today's events. But if I had to add one more event to that list, I'd include the Savings & Loan scandal.

Pete Brewton's book (or his series of articles at The Houston Post) are the best starting point in understanding the scandal. He connects many of the major players from the JFK assassination, Iran-contra, BCCI, the October Surprise, and 9/11. The Jim Bath that he mentions in the following video is James R. Bath, and James A. Baker III is the same man who was meeting with the bin Ladens on behalf of the Carlyle Group when the planes hit the towers.
