I most definitely haven't and will not disable guest posting.
I was wondering the same thing and we seem to be getting some from some unexpected places - Russian Federation, Ukraine, Bavaria, France (regular visitor),Turkey, China, Israel (I banned that one) to name a few, but, most surprisingly, we've also had a lot from the US!

Guests can be timid creatures. They just need to be properly motivated to speak up.

Both at the top left of the OP or bottom left of the last post, you have the option to post a new thread or reply.

It looks like I need to look into the need to enter a user name.

I put in Me as a name, it said already taken. LOL!! The trolls can't post, that is why they are not here yet.

Having to enter a user name as a guest is not a decision I made, but I haven't figured out how to change it yet as the admin panel is not very user friendly. In fact it took me ages to discover how to even enable guests - bogan told me after he discovered it

I think that all but the severely mentally disabled would be able to post.

I've yet to figure out why it claims so many names are taken. I really must look into that and I would like to have a generic guest name, but it sure wouldn't be anything as vanilla as guest or as trite as anonymous coward.

I've just banned my second IP.

I noticed it was from Moscow and then I saw this:
E-Government (Data center in Noginsk)

It seems this forum software does not allow the use of a generic user name. I'm still looking into the issue of user names already being in use. The solutions offered do not work.

And after back and forth for two hours at the Admin's forum, I've been told that it's probably just a bug. Great!

I've noticed if you add a number it seems not to happen.

I also banned one from near Buckingham Palace and another from Paris because they are always online and never post. Maybe I'm paranoid, but that doesn't mean they're not watching.

Hey Terps, most guests are from the US, the next most are from Germany. Any idea why this could be?
